Elect by Rachel Van Dyken

Elect by Rachel Van Dyken 5 STARS!!! Rachel Van Dyken has done it again!! Elect is the second book in the Eagle Elite series. I didn’t think that this story could get any better because Elite just blew my mind, but Elect kept my heart beating fast and my curiosity peeked. Elect starts right where Elite left off with Trace, Nixon and Chase having to find a way to live with choices that were made and trying to survive. Trace has caught the eye of the Nixon’s enemies and to protect her he has to shove her into Chase’s arms. Hoping that his enemies believe that she is dating Chase and she means nothing to him. Trace on the other hand loves Nixon with everything she is and is not willing to let him go. She is going to play along with Nixon’s plan so no one gets hurt, but that doesn’t mean she is willing to move on from him. Chase has been the guy that has always been there for her to protect her and comfort her when times have been hard. He has gone out of his way to make sure that she is safe and feel wanted. Loving Chase is easy, but not in the way that he wishes. Chase is Nixon's cousin, but more like a brother. They have promised to always be there for one another and to never betray one another, but when it comes to Trace betraying Nixon seems impossible. He can't stop the way he feels and being around her all the time makes it hard to deny himself. Now is top job is to protect her and deceive his families enemies that will kill Trace to hurt Nixon. Will being forced to spend every minute with Trace do him in and make him deceive Nixon or will be he able to control his desire to love Trace and make her his? Will Trace be able to have a future with Nixon or will she eventually fall in love with Chase? Will Nixon be able to protect Trace or will they fail and all pay the price? A life for a life is required, but whose life will it be? Rachel did an amazing job writing this story and hope that there will be more about all of the characters. I could not decide which guy I wanted to end up with the girl; I loved them both. This story kept me flipping through the pages and I could not sleep until I knew how it ended.

Elite by Rachel Van Dyken 5 Stars!

Elite by Rachel Van Dyken 5 Stars! Wow…this book just blew my mind. I can’t rave enough about how great this book is. If you haven’t read Elite by Rachel Van Dyken you must put it on the top of your TBR list! Trace Rooks was raised by her grandparents. Her grandmother recently passed away and now she is heading to college. Trace won the Eagle Elite College Scholarship lottery; she knew graduating from this school would give her unlimited opportunities in life. She would be able to take care of her grandfather. However, Trace was not prepared to come into contact with the Elect and their rules. The Elect informed her of the rules that she is to follow or they will make her life hell. Nixon is the leader of the Elect. He is the senior student council president and is in charge of showing new students the ropes and informing them of the rules. No one would dare to cross Nixon. Nixon’s job is to protect the students from fights and being made fun of, but to do so he has to make sure they know their place. His job is not to be nice to everyone, but to enforce the rules. Trace doesn’t take too kindly to Nixon or his rules. As much as Trace wants to hate Nixon she can’t help, but find him attraction and be pulled to him. Nixon has so many secrets; he is very cryptic about anything regarding who he is or what he does. Trace why he is so important or why people are afraid of him. The closer Trace gets to Nixon the more she learns. Once she finds out the truth her whole world changes. Everything she thought she knew and who she really is takes Trace by complete surprise. She was prepared for her life to completely change. Elite is a page turner that will keep you up at night reading until you have finished the book. I loved all the twist and turns. My heart was pounding at times and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen. I had extremely mixed feelings for Nixon: I definitely had a love hate relationship with him, but I could understand why he acted the way he did. He is trying to keep everyone safe; especially Trace, whom he can’t seem to stay away from. I felt so bad for Trace. She is such an innocent and sweet girl, who is thrown into a world she knows nothing about. Rachel Van Dyken did an amazing job keeping you guessing and shocking you throughout this book. I have never been disappointed by any of her books and this one is no different. I can’t wait to read the sequel, Elect. “I would have kissed you harder. I would have fought for you more. I don’t know. I would have stolen you away, taken your virtue, make myself so permanently etched on you person that every time you took a breath it was my scent that was permeating the air.” Nixon

Until November by Aurora Rose Reynolds

4 Stars!!

Aurora Reynolds did a great job with her first book, "Until November". She built the characters in a way that the reader not only connected with them, but felt what they were feeling during intense situations. November left New York to move in with her father in Tennessee after her heart got broke by her fiancé and she no longer feels safe. Once she arrives and gets settled November's father offers her a job working the books for his company. A strip club! While at work, November meets Asher Mayson. Asher is rude, but very sexy. She just can't seem to stay away from him nor deny the electricity that seems to occur when they are around one another. November at times seems very child like, but with her past and how she grew up can be somewhat understood. Adjusting to a new life in Tennessee isn't November's only challenge; Asher is pushing himself onto her and not letting her go, plus dealing with someone who just won't leave her alone. Asher Mayson is a playboy who is not use to feeling something for a woman that is more than a fun time. Once he sees November he immediately knew he was going to have her no matter what he had to do to get her. He falls hard and quick and would do anything to protect November. Asher is an alpha male that you just can't help but want. November and Asher aren't the only characters in this book that you fall in love with; Asher has three younger brothers who are so similar, but different from Asher. All the men in their family is cursed. Once they finally see the woman they are going to be with for their whole lives they fall instantly and there is nothing they can do to stop it. I loved the sections of this book when November interacted with Asher's brothers. "Until November" has a lot going on besides the love story between Asher and November; there is suspense on who is coming after November and what they want and finally the love story between a father and daughter who never got the chance to know one another and finally know what a family can really be like. This story will keep you smiling and laughing while cheering on each of the characters in this book. I normally don't care for the love at first sight, but Ms. Reynolds does a great job tying it into the story line that makes you swoon. My only problem with the book was the child like actions of November seemed a little over the top at times and didn't always seem appropriate for her character or how she would react. Other than that I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read "Until Trevor"!

My Beat Of The Heart by Katie Ashley review

5 STEAMY HOT STARS!!! Mia Martinelli has been unlucky in love and does not trust that there are any good men left in the world. So she focuses on her career and healing her patients instead of her love life. While caring for Runaway Train's top roadie she has an embarrassing meeting with AJ Resendiz, drummer for Runaway Train. Mia goes on a date with AJ in hopes it will get her back into the dating game, but that date was scorching hot and led to two very intense and hot weeks together. AJ can't get enough of Mia and doesn't want to let her go, but Mia has a hard time getting over her past, dealing with AJ's past, and all the groupies just waiting for their turn with AJ. Everything seemed to be going well until an unexpected visitor showed up and Mia couldn't take it, which leaded to AJ being left in a comprising situation, needing his band mates to save him. After being left AJ tries to forget and get over Mia, but his heart will not move on. Four months later AJ finally goes after Mia wanting answers, but gets the biggest surprise of his life. AJ doesn't know what to do to prove no one compares to Mia and that he has no room in his heart for any other woman that her. Will AJ be able to prove he is nothing like the other men Mia has been with or will her fears keep getting in the way? Will Mia ever trust AJ enough to let him in and trust AJ? I could not get enough of AJ. He was so sexy and romantic. He could sing to me in English or Spanish anytime. He wanted a "real" woman with curves and all her problems. He was there to listen and help when he could. AJ didn't run away from Mia's problems, but what's to know exactly what she has been through so he could know her and help her. AJ melted my heart at how attentive he was inside and out of the bed. Mia is a very stubborn, outspoken, independent woman. She doesn't need a man to survive. She stands up for herself and doesn't take AJ's crap; she stands up to him and challenges him. Mia has her insecurities and has a hard time believing she is good enough for AJ, but she loves with all she has. The romance story and sex was not only the post of this story that made me fall in love with it. I absolutely loved how close they were with their families and how much their families meant to them. I was able to connect to this part of the story and made my heart fill with love at how they reacted or talked about their grandparents. Katie Ashley has done it again; she never disappoints!!! I thought I loved Jake, but AJ is in a league all his own! AJ is one sexy Latin lover who will make your heart flutter! This is definitely a must read!!
